Freezer Stock

I just took a picture of my deep freezer, this is everything that is in it as of right now. It's getting there, I should have it filled defiantly by winter time. My mom was worried it wasn't going to be big enough for what I had in mind for it, but I feel it is perfect. Now I have my freezer in the kitchen that I keep stuff I plan to use with in the month or right away and then everything else that I have more then a few of and stuff I got to have for the winter goes in the chest freezer. I feel more at ease now that I have a nice freezer. Now I can't wait to get some good deals so I can finish filling it up :D I definatly have plans in the winter time making a few meals at a time to freeze to cut down on cooking time since DBF and I work different hours all the time.

Smitten Kittens

Monday night was interesting. I had a morning shift so it freed up the rest of the night to do whatever I wanted to do. DBF was off so it was nice to spend some time with him since the whole time I was off over the weekened we really didn't get to because he had to work and I had other things Planned to do.

Thursday I didn't want to do anything but my Mom sprung the kittens on me so I took care of them the rest of the night. Friday I ended up going shopping for some stuff for all the cats. I didn't have any food for the kittens so I wanted to get some of that. I needed more litter and also I really wanted to get an enclosed litter box for the bigger kitties because they like to fling the litter out of the box and it was starting to get annoying cleaning up after them all the time. I also got a few other things while I was out. Saturday was the day I promised my Dad I would come up and spend the day with him and take him to a few places he needed to go to since his vehicle is still down. Plus side to it was I got to bring some laundry with me to do it while I was there. Hooray for free laundry. Then on Sunday I promised my friend that I hadn't seen in forever that I would hang out with her since the Sunday before it we made plans to but I wasn't feeling to good so I told her that we could do it this Sunday. I had fun, it was nice to catch up on old times and see what we have been up to all these years of not seeing each other.

Monday we ended up giving the kittens a bath along with Starr and Panzer. The kittens were great until it came time to actually washing them. They had fun paddling around the bathtub but once I started getting them wet to wash them they didn't like it anymore. They weren't bad though. Starr has been needing a bath for awhile now. She was great, she squirmed around a little but she wasn't to bad. She was a good girl. Then came Panzer. Never again will I give him a bath. The marks on my arm will prove the hell of a time I had with him. He was screaming like you were killing him or something. I didn't even get to shampoo him, he was so difficult. So all we did was wet him down. But I'm serious never again will I give him a bath, he is to hard and he really hurts.

Yesterday we had to take Starr and the Kittens to the vet. Starr was about a month over due for her Annual Check up and the kittens started to have some Diarrhea and it had me worried because I had read it's not a good sign when they do so I wanted to make sure everything was ok. Starr was great, she is now 10lbs and everything looked great. She got her Rabies vacc. and her Distemper shot. She's now good for 3 years on her rabies, and a year on her Distemper. Then he looked over the kittens, he said the diarrhea was probably from the wet food we were feeding them. He said he doesn't recommend wet food till 3 months in age. He said the oils and grease in the wet food is what usually causes it. He gave them each a shot to help so they don't get dehydrated and sprayed them with this stuff to check for fleas. We didn't see any jump off so that was a good sign that they didn't have any. He then gave me a few pills for them to help with the diarrhea then sent us on our way.

I ended up calling my mom today to ask her for some help since shes the one who talked me into taking them. She agreed and said she would pay for half of there vet bill since I had to use what was in the savings account to pay for 3 kitties. But it was worth it because now I have healthy kitties.

Amara is the one in the front and Loki is the one behind.

Next thing that has to be done is DBF needs 4 new tires before his inspection at the end of next month and his windsheild needs to be replaces because it got hit with a baseball which we are still POed about because the insurance company won't pay for it and we have no idea who did it to confront them to have them pay for it. So all that is going to cost us about $500. I can't wait till DBF get's his Chirstmas bonus so we can put that in the savings account so we can move next November. Because the more people I talk to in my area we are so getting ripped off for what we pay for this Apartment. I can't wait till we can own a house, but for now till we can get all the credit cards paid off and my loan from previous credit card debt I was in we can't afford to put any money away for a down deposit just yet.

Not Quite An Open And Shut Case

Video Store | Kittery, ME, USA

(This caller was a real-life version of the one in How To Open a Book.)

Caller: “Hi, I bought a DVD here earlier today, but I can’t get it out of the case. ”

Me: “Alright, is it a new or pre-owned DVD?”

(Our pre-owned DVDs are all locked with a piece of red plastic that has to be removed before they leave the store.)

Caller: “I don’t know. It was like $7.”

Me: “Well, we have both pre-owned and new movies at that price. Is the case wrapped in plastic?”

Caller: “Well, there’s plastic on it.”

Me: “Alright, so you’ll need to take the plastic off of the case.”

Caller: “That won’t break it?”

Me: “If the case is wrapped in transparent plastic, you are going to need to remove all of that plastic first.”

Caller: “How? I don’t want to break it.”

Me: “Okay. You’ll need to remove the plastic wrap. If you have problems, get a pair of scissors or a knife and use that to cut open the plastic, and then take it off the case.”

Caller: “Okay, but it still won’t open.”

Me: “Are there any stickers covering the sides of the case?”

Caller: “Yes. There’s one on the top. ”

Me: “You’ll need to pull that off.”

Caller: “The case still won’t open, though. I don’t want to break it.”

Me: “Are there any other stickers on the case?”

Caller: “No. Well, there’s one of the left side that looks like the one on the top.”

Me: “Right. You’ll have to remove that. And any other stickers that look like it.”

Caller: “Oh, okay. But it’s still not opening.”

Me: “Any other stickers or plastic wrap?”

Caller: “No!”

Me: “Okay… tell me, what does the case look like?”

Caller: “Well, there’s the side of the case that says the name of the movie and then there’s a black side that looks like the top and bottom.”

Me: “And what side are you trying to open? The black side?”

Caller: “No! The side with the title! Why isn’t it opening?”

Me: “Okay. I want you to put the case down on a table or something. Okay? Now. Put the case face up, like a book, with the front of the case facing you. Okay? Now. Go to the RIGHT side of the case, with the two black pieces of plastic–”

Caller: “Not the left side?”

Me: “No. NOT the left side. The RIGHT side.”

Caller: “So not the side with the title?”

Me: “No. The RIGHT side. Now. Pull the RIGHT side open.”

Caller: “It isn’t working!”

Me: “Are you opening the RIGHT side?”

Caller: “No.”

Me: “Try the RIGHT side.”

Caller: “…Oh. Thanks. They shouldn’t make these so hard to open you know!” *click*

2 New Additions

Today my mom called me all in a panic. I asked her what was wrong and she goes I have a delima. I asked her what it was and she goes to me that she went to get my grandmother lunch at this one place by my grandmothers house and when she was there the owner told her that there were 2 kittens that the mother abandoned that are behind the restaurant. They asked my mom if she knew anyone who would be able to take them. My mom freaked because she would love to have taken them but she couldn't because of her dog. So she thought about it and called me asking me what to do. She said that the owners of the restaurant didn't know anyone else who would want to take them, but they didn't want anything to happen to them because they are so small.

So here's me freaking out and giving in to my mom's request. As soon as she told me how cute they are I couldn't say no. Only issue is I have 3 cats already. I told her I would take them and to call the restaurant back to let them know. I called DBF and told him everything, at first he was like that will make 5 cats. But I told him I didn't care we are taking them. He gave in because he is a softy when it comes to cats, he couldn't say no either. He told me to take a picture of them to send it to him once I helped catch them.

As I got there my mom showed me where they were at. I had a hard time catching them at first because they were in the shrubbery. I managed to get the one and found out it was a little boy. The other one ran before I could grab it. After a little digging around I managed to catch it and found out it was a little girl. I sent DBF a text and told him it was a boy and a girl he told me to get the boy because he wanted to name it. I told him I got the both of them so that was fine. I just couldn't believe it. They are so cute and so docile. Once I caught them they were fine, they weren't scared at all.

My mom helped me take them home. I got some wet food and milk because I knew they had to be hungry. I took them into our spare bedroom and took them out to check them for fleas. They didn't have any, thank goodness. After we played with them for a little, I then tried to get the other cats to check them out, it didn't go over so well with Shmee which I was expecting. Starr was a little freaked out and ran, Panzer was the only one who took any interest in them. After that I gave them some food. The little boy went to town with it. He was lapping it up with no problems. The little girl didn't take any interest with the food but she did enjoy the milk. After they ate they decided to check out the room. They really seamed to have enjoyed there new surroundings. I took a few pictures of them playing in the kitty cube we have. They are just too adorable.

I can't believe I have 5 cats now. But I can't help it, I love cats and I can't say no to kittens. My mom and I determined that it was fate. If it wasn't for my grandmother asking for something to eat at that specific restaurant we would never have known. I'm glad she did because now I have 2 new additions to the family to love and take care of. Once DBF gets home from work we are going to think of some names for them. I have no idea what to call the little girl. I was thinking of another Solar name but IDK yet. I might wait a little to see there personalities.

Finally!!!!

Today is the day I Finally got my Deep Freezer from my Uncle. I'm so happy :D My mom called me last night from work and told me that we could go and get it since I was going to be off. DBF was worried it wasn't going to fit trying to get it in but I knew it just had to from the way my mom described it to me. When DBF and I first moved into this apartment I have been wanting to get a small chest freezer. So when my mom told me about the one my uncle had I knew it was going to fit with no problems just because of the ones I have looked at. But DBF still insisted on taking measurements of all the door frames to make sure.

Once my mom came over to get us to go over to my Uncles, as soon as I saw it I knew it was going to be perfect. DBF and I loaded it up onto my Uncles Truck and we headed back to our place. As soon as we started taking it in the only issue we had was trying to get it up the stairs because of how awkward it is. But once we got it up and in the front room it fit perfectly.

The kitties seam to enjoy it already as you can see. I took these pictures right after my Mom and Uncle left but before I got to clean it off so it's a little messy looking. Once I wiped it down it looked almost brand new. I'm so excited now I can finally take part in great sales with out having to worry about not having the freezer space to store it.

Now to let it run for a few hours before I can take everything I have in my regular freezer that is currently stocked to the brim because DBF and I went food shopping earlier that day. Since we knew we were getting the freezer we got a bunch of things so we could store in the new deep freezer :D I'll have to take a photo of the inside once I get some things stocked up in it ^.^

Bad Blogger

I've been a bad blogger. Sorry I haven't updated in awhile like I said I would. I still need to update everyone about when Brenda called me and also about my friend who just found out she was pregnant.

I just haven't been in the mood to really sit down and type. I've really been trying to find other things better to do with my time. I promise I will get around to it. I'm off this weekend coming up so I will probably take the time then just to fill everyone in who want's to know whats going on, especially the whole thing going on with Brenda my friend from school who's sister that was killed.

Quick Note

Sorry I haven't been really in the mood to write. I've been trying to find other things to occupy my time then always spending it on the computer.

I just wanted to make a quick note those who have been following my update with the accident, I got in touch with my friend from school that was the sister of the one who was killed. She got my message on myspace and called me back Wednesday evening. We talked for a good hour. I'll explain more later on tonight when I get home from work.

Also I just found out that a friend of mine who used to be one of my best friends back in high school is pregnant again. I ended up talking with her on Wednesday also. She's suppose to be getting her ultrasound sometime today to find out exactly how far along she is, since she doesn't really know because it wasn't a planned pregnancy. But she is still very happy and is looking forward to having another little one. I told her I was extremely jealous...lol We are suppose to get together this Sunday after I get out of work to catch up on things. I'm happy for her and happy to see her again since I haven't really gotten to for the past couple years. I hope we can pick up where we left off because I really miss spending time with her. We used to have some great times together when we were young and stupid..haha

Not Always Right Friday Vol. 1.4

Grannies: Gotta Love ‘Em
Grocery Store | West Texas, USA

(A new employee informs me that she spotted a little boy sneaking some candy in his pants. I confront the boy and an older woman about it.)

Me: “Excuse me, ma’am. Hey, kiddo, what’s in your pocket?”

Boy: “Nothing!”

Granny: “Oh, h***, again?! Boy, if you don’t put that d***ed candy back, that lady gonna call the po-po on you! And I ain’t gonna stop her none.”

(The boy, crying, hands me 2 candy bars and a handful of suckers. I thank the lady, and get back to work. A few minutes later, the boy’s mother comes up to me.)

Mama: “Is that the b****?”

Me: “Excuse me?”

Mama: “Aint’ talking to you.”

Boy: “Yes, mama.”

Mama: “Girl, you being rude to my son?”

Me: “No, ma’am.”

Mama: “So why you take away his candy?”

Me: “Because it wasn’t paid for.”

Mama: “Says who? I got him that candy!”

Me: “Ma’am, it’s at least 100 degrees outside, and your boy had unmelted chocolate in his pocket. He didn’t bring that in with him. Besides, he was seen taking the candy off the shelf.”

Mama: “What? Who said that?” *turns to the other cashiers* “Which one of you a**holes told on my boy?”

Me: “Excuse me, but that’s not important.”

Mama: “What’s your point, then?!”

Me: “The point is, your boy was caught stealing.”

Mama: “Forget about the d***ed candy, you nosy b****! Ain’t none of your business!”

Me: “Ma’am, your son was spotted shoplifting, which is a crime. You’re lucky I don’t report him.”

Mama: “You stupid b****! I don’t give a flying f*** about the candy!”

(She raises her hands as if to hit me.)

Me, to a coworker: “Call the manager, he should be in by now.”

(Just then, Granny appears out of nowhere and smacks her daughter with her handbag.)

Granny: “WHAT THE H*** YOU DOING, GIRL?” *continues to smack and berate her daughter* “Upsetting people like that! No common sense! S***! YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THAT!”

Mama: “But, Ma–”

Granny: “SHUT YOUR MOUTH GIRL! GET IN THE D***ED CAR!” *turns to me* “I’m so sorry about that. She crazy, I swear to God. She’ll never come back in here, I promise.”

Me: “…”

Granny, to daughter: “CAN’T TAKE YOUR CRAZY A** NOWHERE! S***!”

(She walks out like nothing happened, and true to her word, I’ve not seen that lady since.)

Everything I got was pretty much the Walgreens brand items. Which we had a huge sale on most of it for B1G1F. I thought I did pretty well considering most of it really doesn't go on sale for that cheap in the name brand items and since all employees get a 20% discount on all Walgreen Brand items instead of the standard 15% I thought it was an even better deal to not pass off.

I have a few other things I need to get today that I figured out that I didn't want to get last night. I'll post those tonight after work when I get them. But for now, time to get ready. I hope it's not really busy even though it's a holiday. I hope people stay at home and spend time with there families and not all there time at Walgreens :D

On another Note

Since everything that happened I have been trying to find things to keep my self busy so I don't think to much. Saturday I was off. I woke up at 8:30am with a stomachache and couldn't go back to sleep so I just got up. I was being lazy at first since my stomach was bothering me and I kept running to the bathroom. About 11:30a I got motivated because I just couldn't sit around anymore.

I started by doing the dishes since I had a whole sink full of them. After I got done with them I decided to clean out the fridge. I threw away anything that was in there for awhile and took out everything that I still needed to clean, cut and freeze. I started with my tomatoes, some of them went bad so I threw them away but I still had plenty left over to make sauce with. I had never made my own sauce before so this was a whole new territory for me. I blanched the tomatoes then pealed the skins off then cut them into halves so I could take all the seeds out. I had a little but of trouble doing that because I didn't leave some of the tomatoes in long enough so they were still a little soft. Oh well now I know for next time. I started to mash up what was left and so it wasn't so lumpy I added 2 small cans of tomato sauce I had. Then I added a bunch of spices and let it simmer for about 30 minutes. It came out really good from what I tasted before I let it cool and put in a bowl so I could freeze it. I was pleased, it made about 2 jars worth of sauce :D

After that I washed and vacuum sealed the green beans and baby carrots I got from the clearance produce score that I got from my local supermarket I hit up in the beginning of last week. I got them in the first place with the intention to freeze so I had them for when I decided to make chicken soup when it got colder. I love lots of veggies in my soup so beings they were fresh (well almost fresh) and so cheap it was worth it to get them.

After I did that I put the dishes I did earlier away and started on the next batch from when I made the sauce. When I got done with that I cleaned out my silverware drawer and reorganized the area where I keep my spices. Once I was done with that I stopped to eat some lunch. It was about 2:30p at this point. After I finished eating I cleaned the stove since it was well over due for a good cleaning and then came the litter box. Once that was done then came the vacuuming. It wasn't really bad but it needed to be done, more so by the litter box. I really need to invest in an enclosed litter box so they don't kick out all the litter after they use it. It would save on litter and less maintenance of cleaning up after them when they have an accident and miss the box and end up getting the wall -.-

After all that I fried up the Eggplant from the Eggplant Parmesan from when I made it the other day. It never fully cooked so it was very chewy, but I didn't want it to go to waste so I fried up what was left. Then I finished up by cutting up the papaya we got from Sam's Club awhile back and then zucchini that was from the clearance produce score. My freezer is so full right now I don't know if I can fit anything else in there. I really need a chest freezer and I have no idea when my uncle is going to give me his that he said I could have. I really hope I get it before Winter. If not I have a feeling I'll be taking most of the frozen produce I have in there over to store at my mom's in her huge deep freezer.

It was about 5pm at this point and I was starting to running out of steam. I was debating at this point if I wanted to take some laundry to my moms to do. I relaxed for a little bit and then decided I needed to do it so I gathered up all of the laundry that was stuff that was more important then others. I got about 3 loads of clothes that needed to be done. So about 6:30p I left to go to my mom's. It was nice I got the whole house to my self since her and my step dad were going to a wedding. My step dad's Brother was finally getting married. So they were going to be gone for the next few hours. To keep from being bored while I was there I was playing on the computer looking up stuff on the one site I like to visit once in awhile called www.i-am-bored.com I found some pretty funny videos to watch and keep my mind off of things. Next thing I knew, it was almost midnight and they got home as I was putting in my last load of laundry in the dryer. When I came up from the basement I saw them bringing in tray after tray of food that was left over from the wedding. I was excited when my mom told me to take some of it home. I managed to take a whole tray of food. There was chicken stuffed with stuffing, green beans, beef stroganoff, and this spinach cheese lasagna thing. It all looked so good. I was happy because this meant I didn't have to cook for days.

I called DBF because now that I had extra stuff to bring home, I was going to need his help to bring it all up. By the time I was done with everything it was 12:30a and it was time to leave. My mom helped me take everything to my car and then DBF helped me bring everything in the house. He was excited by all the food, especially the chicken. I was glad I cleaned out the fridge earlier that day because I had just enough room to be able to fit the tray in there.

I'm glad I got everything done that day, since I am off tomorrow that means I get to just sit at home and relax with DBF. Only thing I need to do is the little bit of dishes in the sink now and to clean the bathroom which really doesn't take me long to do. It should be a nice day tomorrow, I'm actually looking forward to it.

Not in the Mood

Sorry it took me so long to update in case those who were interested in what has been going on. I wasn't really in the mood to write so everything I had gathered up with the news feeds and news papers I had just saved as drafts till I felt like taking the time to sit and gather my thoughts.

On Friday I found out that the woman who was killed, that I knew her sister. I went to school with her. She was a year ahead of me. We weren't best friends but we did talk. I managed to find her on myspace and sent her a message telling her how I felt and that I was one of the witnesses in her sisters death. It made me feel better knowing I was able to tell her, and I hope she contacts me back. I would love to get together with her and her family some time to talk and give them my deepest sympathy that I am so sorry for there loss and that I tried everything in my best power to help her out.

After experiencing that whole tragic experience, I now know why I was there. Everything happens for a reason and now I understand that it wasn't just some fluke accident that I was in the right place at the right time. I'm not a very religious person, but I'm really starting to feel like who ever is watching over me wanted me to be there. Yes it is something I will never forget, but considering the fact that it was someone who I knew a relative of isn't just a coincidence. It was fate.

Each day has been a little bit better for me. I still get a little panicy when driving, every time I get in my car I go back to the scene of the accident. But I manage to deal with it and go on with my life, even though it's not as easy as it sounds. I have also been taking a different route home from work so I don't have to see the marks on the road where they spray painted to indicate where she was found and her items on the road were located.

I'm relieved to know they have all of the drivers in custody now so they can determined what to do. I really have mixed feelings about the 2nd driver, I give her allot of credit that she did stay but she did run over someone so I know sometime might happen to her. The first and the third driver I know will probably have the most consequences since they drove off. I keep checking our local news papers for any new news on what is going to happen with the drivers. So far nothing in yesterdays paper. I will check today's when I go to work and if there is I will update everyone tonight when I get home.

On another note I'm going to write another entry about some not so depressing things.

Third driver in fatal cooperating

Once investigation completed, district attorney will decide on charges, Kingston police chief says.

EDWARD LEWIS elewis@timesleader.com

KINGSTON – Police have spoken to the three drivers they believe were involved in a fatal pedestrian accident on Wyoming Avenue late Wednesday night, Police Chief Keith Keiper said.

Keiper said the driver of a third vehicle that allegedly struck 32-year-old Sharon Shaughnessy arrived at police headquarters with her vehicle Friday morning.

Her name and the names of the two other drivers haven’t been released by police pending the investigation, Keiper said.

Police were searching for a light-colored, 2003 or 2004 Volvo, the third vehicle suspected of hitting Shaughnessy just after 10:30 p.m.

Shaughnessy was initially struck by a sport utility vehicle in the northbound lane as she crossed Wyoming Avenue near Pierce Street, Keiper said.

Keiper said the woman was then struck in the southbound lane by a second vehicle, and again by a third vehicle.

The drivers of the first and third vehicles that struck Shaughnessy sped away, and the driver of the second vehicle stopped at the scene, Keiper said.

The driver of the first vehicle surrendered to authorities on Thursday morning.

Keiper said the three drivers are cooperating with the investigation.

State police at Wyoming impounded the first and third vehicles, police said.

Shaughnessy, a resident of Kingston Manor, was walking home from her job at Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 where she worked in concessions.

Keiper said once the investigation is complete, it will be presented to the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office to determine if criminal charges will be filed.

Kingston police have identified the woman killed Wednesday night in a hit-and-run crash as Sharon Shaughnessy, 32, of Kingston.

Meanwhile, police said one of the drivers they were looking for surrendered this afternoon.

Police say Shaughnessy was killed after three separate vehicles struck her as she crossed Wyoming Avenue at the Pierce Street intersection around 10:30 p.m.

The second vehicle stopped immediately. The first and third fled.

Police said the woman who surrendered this afternoon was the first to strike Shaughnessy. Police initially believed the driver to be male earlier in the investigation. Police continue to interview her.

Investigators continue to search for the driver of a third vehicle who struck the woman. The driver was a female in a silver car, possibly a Volvo.

Police say there will be no determination today as to whether charges will be filed.

Kingston police are looking for two vehicles in connection with a bizarre hit-and-run crash Wednesday night that killed a female pedestrian on Wyoming Avenue.

Police on Thursday said three separate vehicles hit the woman as she crossed Wyoming Avenue at the Pierce Street intersection.

The woman died at the scene.

According to Kingston police Chief Keith Keiper:

The first vehicle was northbound on Wyoming Avenue toward Forty Fort when it hit the woman, pushed her into the southbound lane, and fled.

A second vehicle driving in the southbound lane then struck the woman. The female driver stopped.

A third vehicle traveling in the southbound lane ran over the victim and also fled.

Witnesses described the first vehicle as a dark-colored sports utility vehicle, possibly a Geo Tracker, with gray/silver bumper. The driver appeared to be a white male in his 30s wearing a baseball cap.

The third vehicle was a silver car, possible a Mazda or Mitsubishi.

Police said the victim, who resided in Kingston, was walking home from work when the accident occurred just before 10:30 p.m.

"It's a sad thing. People were supposed to stop at the scene of an accident. You have to know you hit somehting. They just drove away," Keiper said. "This is one of the worst I've seen in a long time."

Authorities know the identify of the victim, but have not yet notified the next of kin. An autopsy was under way this morning.

Wyoming Avenue was closed for hours, but is now open to traffic.

Kingston police are asking anyone with information to call police at 287-6911 or call 911.

Shocking Discovery

Kingston woman walking home from work killed on Wyoming Avenue near Pierce Street.

KINGSTON – An employee at Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 was killed when she was struck by three vehicles as she walked across Wyoming Avenue Wednesday night.

Police Chief Keith Keiper identified the woman as 31-year-old Sharon Shaughnessy, of Kingston.

Shaughnessy was walking home from the movie theaters and crossing Wyoming Avenue near Pierce Street when she was struck in the northbound lane by a sport utility vehicle just after 10:30 p.m., Keiper said.

Keiper said she was then struck in the southbound lane by a second vehicle, and again by another vehicle traveling south on Wyoming Avenue.

The drivers of the first vehicle and third vehicle that struck Shaughnessy sped away, and the driver of the second vehicle stopped at the scene, Keiper said.

Hours after the accident, the driver of the first vehicle surrendered to authorities. Her name hasn’t been released because of the ongoing investigation, Keiper said.

Keiper said the driver of the third vehicle, possibly a silver or light-colored 2003 or 2004 Volvo, is being sought.

“We have witnesses who witnessed the accident,” Keiper said.

Shaughnessy was pronounced dead at the scene by Luzerne County Chief Deputy Coroner William Lisman.

Results from an autopsy performed by forensic pathologist Dr. Mary Pascucci at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital on Thursday were not released by the Luzerne County Coroner’s Office.

Lisman referred questions to District Attorney Jacqueline Musto Carroll, who declined comment. Keiper said two detectives are actively investigating the case.

“They’re out interviewing witnesses,” Keiper said. “Once they get what they need, we’ll refer our case to the district attorney’s office.”

Keiper said it’s too soon to determine if criminal charges will be filed.

Wyoming Avenue, officially called U.S. Route 11, was closed for several hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning as investigators reconstructed the accident. Orange-colored spray paint markings on the pavement showed where Shaughnessy was struck and where her body was found.

Shaughnessy was employed in concessions at the movie theaters for approximately two years. A movie theater official declined further comment due to company policy.

Anyone with information about the driver of the third vehicle is asked to contact Kingston police at 287-6911.

Authorities say they have not determined what charges are warranted in the bizarre death of a female pedestrian who was struck Wednesday night in Kingston by three successive vehicles, two of which fled the scene.

“It’s a complicated matter, so it’s under investigation,” Luzerne County District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll said Thursday. “Obviously, it’s a tragedy, but we have to let the police do their job.”

Kingston police identified the victim as Sharon Shaughnessy, 31, of Kingston. She died at the scene.

Police say Shaughnessy was hit as she crossed Wyoming Avenue at Pierce Street around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday. She was walking home from her job at Movies 14 in Wilkes-Barre.

Investigators say a key turning point in their crash probe came early Thursday afternoon when the driver of the first vehicle to hit the woman surrendered to police. The female driver was questioned by detectives, but no charges were immediately filed. Her name was not released.

According to Kingston police Chief Keith Keiper, initial crash investigation reports indicated that the first vehicle was northbound on Wyoming Avenue toward Forty Fort when it hit Shaughnessy, pushed her into the southbound lane and fled.

A second vehicle driving in the southbound lane then struck the woman. The female driver stopped and later provided information to police.

A third vehicle traveling in the southbound lane ran over the victim and also drove off.

Police are trying to track down the driver of the third vehicle, a silver/gray car, possibly a Volvo.

“It’s a sad thing. People are supposed to stop at the scene of an accident. You have to know you hit something,” Keiper said.

“This is one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time.”

The driver who turned herself in on Thursday is cooperating, Keiper said. He called her surrender “an important piece of the puzzle.”

Keiper would not indicate how close his department is to making a determination on charges, but it could hinge on what the third driver has to say.

“Once we gather all our reports, we’ll talk to the district attorney,” Keiper said.

Kingston police are asking anyone with information about the crash or the third driver’s whereabouts to call police at 287-6911 or call 911.

Breaking News:
Third driver involved in fatal hit-and-run surrenders to police 2 p.m.

Published: Friday, August 29, 2008 5:55 PM EDT

The third driver involved in Wednesday night’s fatal hit-and-run in Kingston surrendered to police this morning, Kingston police said.

After watching television news reports on Thursday night, the driver realized she may have been involved, police said.

Police have now spoken with all three drivers who struck Sharon Shaughnessy along Wyoming Avenue at Pierce Street around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Shaughnessy died at the scene.

Investigators will now meet with prosecutors to determine what charges, if any, will be filed.

Initial crash investigation reports indicated the first vehicle was northbound on Wyoming Avenue toward Forty Fort when it hit Shaughnessy and pushed her into the southbound lane. A second vehicle driving in the southbound lane then struck the woman. A third vehicle traveling in the southbound lane ran over the victim.

The first driver fled, and turned herself in Thursday. The second driver stopped at the scene, and she provided information to police. The third driver surrendered this morning.

Police say all three drivers are cooperating. The two drivers who surrendered over the past two days did not try to repair any damages or clean their vehicles of evidence, police said.

There’s no timetable when charges could be filed. Investigators are planning to meet next week and review reports.

"It’s a complicated matter, so it’s under investigation," Luzerne County District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll said Thursday. "Obviously, it’s a tragedy, but we have to let the police do their job."

Shaughnessy worked at Movies 14 in Wilkes-Barre, and was walking home when she was hit.

6 O'clock News

Our local news station finally put this video clip up of the 6 O'clock news from last night. I'm going to keep everyone updated until they find that 3rd driver that took off.

I'm curious when I'm going to get called in by the state police to go over my statement I made that night. The detective I spoke to that night said I was most defiantly going to get called back. I still can't stop thinking about everything, but I did manage to finally get some sleep last night and actually had a full night. Today I go back to work, I hope everyone goes easy on me when I go back. The manager who took my call the night right after the incident happened was very understanding, I just hope everyone else is and they don't give me a hard time. Working in a retail environment is not easy place to work, dealing with customers and sometimes management.
